Course Overview
What could be more rewarding for your English proficiency than engaging in voluntary work within the local community? This 2 or 3-week experience will provide you with an authentic British atmosphere while allowing you to track your language progress.
- Eligibility: Students must be aged 17+ with a minimum intermediate B1 level.
- Experience: 3-4 hours of unpaid work per day in local shops, small offices, nurseries, cafés, hotels, and volunteer organizations.
- Lessons: 1.5 hours of daily English lesson with a qualified native English teacher.
- Activities: Enjoy supervised sports and fun activities after lessons.
- Excursions: Supervised day trip to London and/or one to Cambridge.
- Transport: Airport transfers are included, along with a weekly city bus pass and train fares.
- Accommodation: Stay with a carefully selected host family who provide breakfast, packed lunch, and dinner.
- Prices are quoted on request since our packets are customised.

Hi! Ciao! Hola! Mi experiencia con Comuni-Co fue muy buena, aprendí muchísimo de la familia con la que conviví 2 meses en Peterborough. Me encantó hacer el voluntariado en una tienda de segunda mano, donde pasaba unas cuantas tardes a la semana ayudando a los demás voluntarios y a la encargada en la tienda, ellos me ayudaron mucho con mi inglés y descubrí el mundo de la segunda mano, hasta entonce desconocido para mí. Por supuesto, practique inglés con muchos de los clientes que llegaban. Por no hablar del tiempo que pasé con Concetta, James y su círculo de amistades. Asistí a un par de eventos con ellos, lo cual me hizo relacionarme con el mundo inglés de una manera muy real e inmersiva. Visité pueblos típicos ingleses fuera del turismo masivo de Londres y pude ver otra cara de Inglaterra. Estoy muy feliz de haber hecho esta experiencia con Comuni-Co y me encantaría repetir de nuevo en el futuro para seguir practicando el inglés de una forma más real.

My experience with Comuni-Co was great. I learned so much from the family I stayed with for two months in Peterborough. I loved volunteering in a second-hand shop, I spending 2 afternoons a week helping the other volunteers and the shop manager. They helped me a lot with my English, and I discovered the second-hand world, which was completely new to me. I also got to practise with lots of the customers who came in.
I also had a good time with Concetta, James and their group of friends. I went to some events with them, which helped me experience English life in a very real and immersive way. I visited some typical English villages, far from London and tourists. I saw a different side of England.
I’m really happy I did this experience with Comuni-Co, and I’d like to do it again in the future to keep practising my English in a more authentic way.
